Tenants and visitors in the building now get reliable indoor mobile coverage with the new solution from Proptivity.

Braathen Eiendom and Proptivity have completed the rollout of high-performance indoor 4G and 5G coverage at Haakon VIIs gate 2 in Oslo. With Telia as the first operator connected through the new future-ready digital operator connection and with full support for the remaining mobile operators, tenants and visitors get reliable mobile coverage from all operators in the building.

Haakon VIIs gate 2 sits in Vika, Oslo’s central business district. Designed by architect John Engh and built in 1958, the building has been refurbished in stages over the years, most recently with a full upgrade to energy-efficient windows in 2025, carried out while preserving its original functionalist character.

The deployment is the first commercial implementation of digital operator connection in Norway. The solution connects an operator digitally into Proptivity’s shared indoor infrastructure, rather than through older analogue integration methods. This enables a modern multi-operator platform with high capacity and efficient operation. For the operator and building owner, this means less equipment in the building, lower energy use and less installation work. The biggest gain is performance: a fully digital system supports higher capacity and the latest 5G features, such as 5G laptops, network priority for critical users, and indoor positioning.

The new infrastructure will deliver:

  • High-performance 4G and 5G coverage
  • Strong signal in offices, lifts and bike parking
  • Reliable connectivity for mobile work tools
  • A digital platform ready for future mobile technologies

“Reliable mobile coverage is now part of what tenants expect from a building, the same way they expect heating or lifts to work,” says Jørgen Fremstad, Project Director at Braathen Eiendom. “We wanted to get that right rather than leave it to chance.”

“Telia is the first to deploy this kind of digital operator integration in buildings. The pilot has been a success, and we are positive about the solution. The technology enables collaboration models that reduce cost and complexity,” says Hemdan Bezabih, Business Developer responsible for indoor strategy at Telia Norway.

“Through a fully digital shared platform, we deliver high performance indoors,” says Christoffer Lundgreen, CEO of Proptivity Norway. “This is how modern indoor mobile infrastructure will be delivered going forward.”

The project is the result of close collaboration between Braathen Eiendom, Proptivity, Telia and Ericsson.
